Small Things, Good Things!

Good Tuesday all my crafty friends! Wow, I have been so busy for the past several days!  I have so many things on my table that I am SO EXCITED about!! This next year will be a new year of wonderful art adventures.  These will be new journey's for me because I will be participating in things that I have never participated in before such as swaps and challenges, etc... I know a lot of my crafty friends participate on that level weekly or even daily, but as a busy working mom, I haven't had the opportunity to do that.  So this will all be a part of stretching my self in a new creative way!  I am truly very excited to see where God takes me on this road!

Today I will share a real "quick" project with you that I did on last night because I have other projects that have taken the front burner for me, but I did want to share something that I had been working on.
I did these quick and fun ATC's as an expression of my excitement for an ATC swap that I will be involved in next year.  I'm getting my juices flowing!! LOL  As I said these were quick, but lots of fun.  I simply gesso'd them all and quickly smeared Silks Acrylic glazes in  Pink Azalea, Pretty Peridot and Sky Blue in different areas over each ATC.  I then took my Faber-Castell Gelato in Chocolate and pressed it through several different stencils from Crafters Workshop.  I stamped with my favorite script stamp in StazOn Black over each one and then finished off with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain on the edges. Simple, yet a good thing!!  I really liked them.

Not all "good things" come in BIG packages or in our case, BIG projects.  Sometimes the little projects make just as much a statement.  It think that is why I like ATC's.  They are small, but not so intimidating, yet you can still have fun and have an impressive project when you are done!!  If you haven't tried them, give them a whirl!

Tomorrow my daughter will be having dental surgery, to which she and I (for her) are very nervous about!  I would ask that if you can, in your own way, lift her up before the Lord for a good surgery and full recovery!  When all is said and done, she will have a million dollar smile!  LOL!!

Speaking of smiles, won't you take the time to give someone a million dollar smile today!?  You never know what a difference you may make in someone's life!

You be blessed today! :)

  1. Lovely ATC's Felicia! Small projects allow us to create something every day and keep our creative juices flowing. I so love your excitement about the swaps and challenges. I'll be thinking of your little girl tomorrow and channelling positive thoughts.I know how worried you must be - I would be as well. I'm sure you would take her place if you could. There's nothing we mothers wouldn't do for our children. I'm sure everything will go smoothly and you can breathe a sigh of relief when it's all over. Best wishes, Felicia xx

    1. Thanks Zsuzsa!! I agree about the small projects keeping the juices flowing! I think (in our minds..ha ha) if we can master a "small project" then the bigger ones are "no problem!" LOL Or at least for me and my twisted brain!! LOL I am really excited about the swaps and challenges, I think because it pushes me more than I have been pushed before with my art! I love it ALL!
As far as the taking the place for my daughter, you are too right! I sure would have. I had to coax her out of the car in the parking lot of the surgeon. She was crying and it was so hard for me to tell her it would be "alright, as it were" because I knew it would hurt? Tight spot!! But yes it did go smoothly and I DID A BIG SIGH OF RELIEF when it was over! LOL Thanks so much again, my friend! Bless you! :)

  2. Lol Felicia, yesterday I also had a day of ATCs, I love the blending of your colours, and the shapes as well. And dental surgery is never pleasant, I suffered a lot as a kid, still having problems, but I am sure that she is going to be strong and you need to be the brave mother to stand next to her! I'll pray for her and you as well, a day or two and she is going to be the richest smiler on earth :-)

    1. Ruth, isn't it funny how we get to thinking alike sometimes with our art pals? Course, that could be scary for you (in terms of me...ha ha ha) Thank you so much!! I know what you mean about dental issues. Like you, I suffered as a kid with bad teeth as well and am STILL having trouble. I HATE going to the dentist because EVERY TIME I get in that chair, they find something wrong!!! Arrrggh! Thanks for your prayers and she will be smiling again soon! :) You are the sweetest!! Thank you again, my friend, BLESSINGS! :)

  3. I've never been into ATCs but you tempt me with these, they are such a lovely series. Small projects are great because they get finished quickly and we can move on to the next. I hope you're going to tell us what all these sways and challenges are. I've only just seen this so your daughter must have had the surgery already. I hope it was a complete success and will pray that she heals up quickly. Blessings x

    1. Susan, it took me awhile to get into ATC's. But once I did, I really do like them, I guess for the same reason as the "tags," because it's smaller ground to cover! LOL I like the smaller projects, I think, because it seems like instant gratification. Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to finish a journal page because I am so "ticky," but with the ATC's I can do them in a matter of minutes. It's the "fast food" world we live in....ha ha.....everything "right now!" All jokes aside, they are fun!!
Thank you for you prayers for my daughter. It was a complete success and she just has to be patient now as she heals...A LOT of mashed potatoes! LOL Thank you so much Susan for your thoughts and prayers! Bless you my friend! :)

But both girls are good and I am so thankful for wonderful doctors that STILL care about patients!! You are a sweetheart, THANK YOU AGAIN for inquiring!!! :) Blessings, my sweet friend! :)
