Throw Back Thursday!

Good Thursday! Phew, its been busy around here and on top of that, it turned back HOT in this balmy state!  Patience has NEVER been my strongest suit, so I am really trying to be patient with Mother Nature! LOL  Fall (real fall) can't come soon enough for me!

So, based on my above statement, I didn't get into my closet last night to have fun, so I will share another Throw Back Thursday!  My girls don't have to go to school tomorrow, so you know what that  means....NO HOMEWORK, NO STUDYING....FUN IN THE ART CLOSET!!
What do you do with all the tags that you just randomly make?  Or how do you store them?  I love tags, they are by far my favorite thing to play around with.  I just put all my tags on little binder rings. They are perfect for that, cheap and you can simply just hang them on a hook. Voila!  They are usually for my own perusal, but I have, in a pinch, flipped through them for a quick gift for someone by just adding embellishments.

I was flipping through my rings and found this one that I really liked.  Can't say that I recall everything I actually did to this tag, but I am quite sure it was done using mostly acrylic paints on the background and through some stencils.  I loved the balloon that I had gotten as a free online digital somewhere and stamped a ruler stamp, that I think is a Tim Holtz stamp (it's been so long) and then used the sentiment stamp with ColorBox ink and clear embossing powder.  Not a whole lot going on here, but just fun to do and fun to look at as you dream about boarding that balloon and going who knows where?

How do you store your tags?  In a book?  On a hook? Do you keep most of the tags for yourself or do you do them for the intent of gift giving or selling in a small shop somewhere?  A lot of the tags I do are just as random fun for myself, but I also do certain tags with the intent to give as gifts!  Those are the rewarding ones for me because I know the people I give them to will appreciate them and use them in some fun way.

I hope you have a blessed Thursday evening, whether it's random fun for yourself or whether you are working on what will sure to be a blessing for someone else!

Blessings! :)

  1. What totally delicious tags, Felicia! I would love to flip through the whole collection. The balloon one is great, and a smashing image for wishing and dreaming! Your colours are so rich and vibrant. I haven't really got into tags but probably will one day. I won a set of TH tags for the year from a friend, and they are on a ring, hanging in the display area of my ARTHaven. My friend Helen of The Craft Project blog has designed a fabulous tag holder that she sells the workshop for - you can see it here:

She's also done some videos which show it. A lovely way to display a collection of tags on a theme, as you can make the box to match the tags. If I ever get making that many tags I shall probably do this!

Hope you are having a good week.

    1. Thanks Zsuzsa!! Some, I selfishly, can't part with because I just love the way they look (happy accidents!). I do have to get some more rings, other tags are starting to pile up, which is not good. In my "small" work area, I need ALL the space that can be spared! I'm glad I could give you an idea!! You will have to show us your display when you get it done! Thanks again Zsuzsa! :) Blessings

  3. Gorgeous tags, Felicia. I've only recently got into tags. I like to use them as bookmarks, on my journal pages, cards too. Your idea of a ring is great.

    1. Thank you sweet Susan! I agree, I like to use my tags in all those areas as well. I also buy the smaller tags and use them as gift tags on boxes and bags. It's just a little extra bonus of something from me to them! Again, tags are my fave and probably because they are not such an overwhelming space to work in. Many times I look at a journal spread and think it's such a "big" white space, what will I put on there today? But with a tag, it's a smaller space and (in my mind anyway) I don't feel so pressured! LOL Just good fun! Thanks again Susan...blessings to you! :)
