WOYWW #596

Good Wednesday all my crafty friends!!! I pray I find you all healthy and full of peace!  In these uncertain times, especially here in the states as we await election results (at the time of this writing), I find it imperative that I rely on my inner peace of the Lord to look past the surface and toward eternity! "My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish." John 10:27-28 It's not that unrest and illness are not a factor for so many, it's more of my trust in a God that has a plan for my life, plans for prosperity and not harm, and for hope and a future regardless of the circumstances of life! My friends, here and abroad, today, I pray all that for you and more.

It's share day over on Julia's blog!! I love Wednesdays, in spite of the bad rap it gets as hump day!!! LOL Why? Because sharing is caring and I care! I apologize for not getting around to everyone's work spaces last week, but a BIG thank you to all of you who visited mine and shouted out well wishes for my doctor's appointment!! I had a great appointment and he was pleased with everything!! Thank you so much the love!

This week, I have several things going on around my desk, so I have several shots of all the little ditties this week.  First off I will share my small assortment of treasures that I got at that big box craft store that I guys told you about last week that I visited after my doctor's appointment.  Bad thing is that they really didn't have a lot going on, good thing is......I didn't spend tons of money!! Silver lining! LOL  I have become increasingly disappointed with this particular store because they have stopped carrying a lot of the crafty goodness that I liked to buy for the type of art that I like to do, so it forces me to buy online. Not too bad I guess, but being the cheapskate that I am, I just don't like paying for shipping! Things could be worse, I guess.....like NO place to buy at all!!

Big Box Treasures!

So, not a lot but a few things on sale.  The watercolor pads always come in handy for small artness that I like to gift out to people but also can be cut down for ATC's in a pinch.  The ribbon will hopefully be used in "Project Christmas" as well as the Uniball gold and silver pens!  Who can't use those at Christmas time, right?  And then the Kuretake pen I have been wanting for a while and got to use as well in "Project Christmas!"  I have a hard time finding ANY kind of pen that will work on mixed media without drying out QUICKLY (any suggestions, let me know!), so I'm hopeful this will do the trick!!  Watercolor cards with envelopes set I love to have when I want to send a personal touch of creativity to a friend or loved one! Don't you just love getting mail??? It's a dying art, I tell you! So a small, but useful haul! :)

ATC Swap Goodies!

Next on the table was happy mail that I received over the weekend!! They are the ATC's that I received as part of my International ATC Swap over on Amy's Art Alchemy on Instagram.  I was so excited to see what I would be sent and I was so happy with my goodies!! My ATC's came from Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and the UK!!! Each one so pretty and creative!! I love seeing everyone's expression of art! It makes me so happy, which is why I love being involved in something like that!  It's a blessing to get to know other like-minded people! And to glean from their craftiness!  What a treasure!

Lastly, on my desk, today is the makings of backgrounds for my upcoming ATC swap. I pulled out my gorgeous Caran D'ache crayons and my Finetec watercolors. Two of my favorite mediums that are a joy to work with! I also pulled out some of my Daler Rowney Acrylic Inks, which I also love to work with. Who am I kidding?  I like working with ANY art product! LOLOL Aren't we all just glutenous when it comes to craft goodies???? LOL Not sure where I am going with those backgrounds, but we shall see!

I went to Hotlanta for a long weekend and went trick or treating with my nieces and nephews and ended up at a Halloween Party and one of my niece's homes. Our family loves being wild and crazy, playing games and dressing up!! We always have since being kids. So we all dressed up and had a great time!  My sister dressed me as a Unicorn and it turned out great!!!  I guess I will always be just a big kid! LOLOL  Hope everyone had a fun Halloween weekend, however you choose to celebrate it! :)

I Love My Family!!!!

OF COURSE, I COMPLIED! LOL

Have a wonderful Wednesday and an awesome rest of the week!!

Blessings!

  1. Firstly I’m really glad that your appointment went well - great news. Secondly, that Hippies poster in the last pic made me hoot, I might have to remember that idea for future use. So glad that Halloween went well for you and the family, it’s a fun pic of you all!

  2. I must say, I really resent paying for shipping as well, but sometimes buying online is cheaper even with the shipping than buying in store. And if you have to spend a certain amount to get free shipping, I always make sure I do and I only go over the limit a few pence. I can spend hours editing my basket to get it right LOL! But I know what you mean, you can never beat the experience of walking around a large, well stocked craft store. When my son was little and I could never go anywhere without him, I used to dream about being locked in a craft store all night all by myself, so I can look at everthing in peace and quiet! I still remember it - I so wanted that to happen - I even thought of plans of how I could do it, you know hiding somewhere until they locked the doors LOL. It never occured to me that I wouldn't see anything in the dark. Anyway, you can never have enough watercolour paper or pens - they always come in handy! I still use watercolour paper that I bought years ago before I started journaling in old books and realising that I can use all kinds of scrap paper as well. Lovely ATCs received and it will be interesting to see where that background is going. I have one of those in my journal as well, and I have no idea how to proceed. Sometimes I leave it for a while - years if necessary - before I take it to the next level - or use it for scraps - that's always an option! Lovely to see you with your family, Felicia - that unicorn costume definitely suits you! Happy belated Halloween and happy November! Thanks for you visit earlier - it always puts a smile on my face :))

    1. Zsuzsa, as usual, you had me laughing out loud! I TOTALLY get you on being locked in a craft store!!! LOLOL Too funny! My kids HATE to go to the craft stores with me. I take my time and go up and down every aisle and that KILLS them!! LOL So now, I warn them ahead of time that I will be going to said store and they IMMEDIATELY opt out of that trip! Plan is victorious...YES!!!!!! LOLOL You can't rush a crafty thing, right??? I love using all sorts of papers as well, but I sure do love the way watercolor paper feels and takes my paint! Thank your for your sweetness on our picture! I have the best family (I know EVERYONE says the same thing....hee hee) but we are a troop, that's for sure! That unicorn outfit was a hoot to be sure! I just go with the flow! So glad you stopped in my friend and hope you and your fam have an AWESOME week! Blessings to you :))

  3. Fab backgrounds. I have so many backgrounds to use up I've filed them in their own box. We're going into UK lockdown tonight so I think now might be the time to use them up with a variety of projects.
Take care, hugs from Sue #26. xx

  4. I can understand your frustration at your store not being as good as it was - I wonder if I can guess the name of it as the last few times I was over in America I thought it (the one I am thinking of) had gone down in stock that I liked and stocked ore kids stuff and home decor. Still better than our stores over here - we all dream of going to America and visiting the big names we hear of over here.
With Covid restrictions and my being forced to isolate I have no alternative but to buy online - very expensive but if I want to play I have to stand the cost. Could spend my money on other pursuits that are not as good so I don't mind.

    1. You probably do know the one I am speaking of Neet. It has virtually turned into a home goods store really. I hate that. They do have crafty things, but just not mixed media kinds of crafts so much anymore! Sad, but you are right, I could be spending my money elsewhere, so spending it online for beautiful arty goods is just fine! Thanks for stopping in and you have a beautiful rest of your week! :))

  7. Lots of fun new stash, and I love the ATCs and your beautiful backgrounds, Felicia. It's very sad when a shop no longer lives up to expectations - very much felt that on my shopping trip on Monday. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. Wool envy lol lol!! I do love knitwear... I am keen to get on with my purple circles jumper once I've completed Tiny Carpet #6 - so glad you like the design for that one. Hopefully I'll have something to share next week if I can get it going.

I am very glad you find my nutrition pieces interesting and useful. I find the subject fascinating, and I am so grateful to those experts who have done all the research and who pass their knowledge on. The more we can pass it on the better because most people are totally ignorant of the harm they are doing to their bodies with what's on the end of their forks! We can make our lives so much better and healthier with the right choices.

I'm glad someone else enjoys kombucha too - and that they have problems with the Kaboom! syndrome too lol lol! Clancy was really explosive this week! I make up 3 litres per week, and if it's too much, I make 2 for a couple of weeks. I have a dozen flip-top bottles for it and make 6 at a time - plenty for both of us. I put 1/2 cup of kombucha in my electrolyte/rehydration drink which is delicious - nice to know I'm getting all those good probiotics too.

I do hope you try the Thai green curry. We had it for lunch today and it was delicious. It's slightly more of a faff to make than my other curries but well worth the effort. I love the fragrance of Thai food.

The kitties thank you for the stroke, and say "purr purr" in reply! I wish you could come and cuddle them... They are so adorable.

Have a great week, God bless and happy WOYWW,

  12. Hi Felicia, what a lovely post - goodies, happy mail and Halloween party! I love the photo of your family. I'm lucky to live quite close to a couple of great craft stores - although they are now shut due to the latest lockdown. They both have online stores, so I can still get my crafty goodies! When I visit my sister in Canada, she always takes me to a big national craft store ... but each time I am less impressed with the craft goodies they have! Thanks for stopping by and your lovely comments on my cards. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #8

    1. Oh Heather, you are quite welcome! I love your card talent! I love having photos of family because it's often quite hard to get us all together at one time! LOL So thank you so much! We had a ball! I agree with your thoughts on the big craft stores.....we may all be reduced to online shopping before it's over with! Stay safe and many blessings to you!

  13. Hi Felicia, love the pics of your family Halloween- I do think being able to be a bit silly, and let our inner child out sometimes is so good for our mental health!Loving all the ATC's, some gorgeous work there. We have one craft chain- what you'd class as a big box store, I think, called Hobbycrafts, and it too is just not as good for stamping/papercrafts as I'd like. To be truthful, now I only visit it for basic supplies- when we go to the big garden centre it's part of! I wouldn't make a special journey there anymore. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

  14. Not a bad treasure haul from the store..I can always find something, even if they don’t cater to my style of making! Looks as though you had a fab Hallowe’en, it just didn’t happen here, so close to a new lockdown, most people were v sensible and didn’t risk it. Shame, I’ve always loved to see the kids out an about. I love that you don’t really knows where you’re going with the pages...best results happen when you just go with your flow!

    1. Thank you so much Julia for stopping in!!! I agree....I did get a little something, so not so bad! :) It was still low key Halloween here as well, but the kids did get to get out in certain areas as long as we all had our masks on, etc... A lot of folks just put baskets outside there door and didn't come out, which was fine too, but just really wanted to see the kiddos get to dress up. That's what its really all about! Thanks again for stopping in! Blessings!

Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.

  20. Glad you did treat yourself to a few things, right now it's only online that I buy, in lockdown in little old England so non essentials all closed up till the 2nd of December. I understand the problem with the pens for mixed media, I use posca's quiet often but the fine point tends to clog every now and then too.
Happy to see you and the family getting together over Halloween, not much fun for us in lockdown but i'm sure the city will make up for it when the world gets a little safer. Take care & stay safe Tracey x
