WOYWW #624

Good Wednesday all my crafty friends! It's that time of the week to share our talents, creativity, and sometimes miracles (mostly miracles for me, hee hee) on our desks over on Julia's Stamping Ground blog! Come on over and share your digs and I will try my best to get by and take a gander! LOL

It will be a quick post this week my friends. Last week and weekend was ALL about my nephew's wedding! It was crafting and cooking all the way up to midnight the day of!! I was exhausted! The actual wedding was Monday. I took off so that we could set up the venue and make his day the BEST! We started at 9am and I finally laid my head down at 12:30am! When I got home, I forgot that I had put my sheets to my bed in the washer and dryer before I left, so guess who had to put those suckers on when I got home in the wee hours? My feet were aching and I was so tired, but it had to be done! LOL  When growing up as a child, we were taught to make our beds every day. There was NO getting out of that dreaded task! So to this day, that is something I do regardless and I taught my kids the same......thanks mom! Anywho, she taught us to make a tight bed with hospital corners so you are a human burrito in my bed! LOL When I woke up Tuesday morning to go to work, I barely had to pull up the sheets to make the bed!!! I was so exhausted, I had not moved a lick during the night and the sheets were as they were when I put them on! NOW, that's exhausted! All in all, it was a beautiful wedding and I am so happy that I was able to be a part of making it so for them!

So there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING in the making on my desk because of last week's festivities! I will share the finished piece that I was feverishly working on last week for their wedding. I was semi-happy with it, I just opted for simple, but it got done and given to them on Saturday at the shower. There is ALWAYS something more you "would have" done to it after you are done when you think about it. Isn't that funny how we do that? Oh well, it is what it is and here is the finished:

Wish I could have done more sparkle!!

This is with the gift cards attached!

My beautiful niece, nephew and great nephew!

Well, I think that is just about going to do it for me today folks!! I hope to get back to crafting this week ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD, I still have to try the Marmite! LOLOL My kids have agreed to go on that adventure with me, so we shall see how that turns out!!

Here's to hoping you guys have a beautiful rest of your week and weekend!! I will leave you with a couple of pictures of me and my wonderful sisters that we took on our camping weekend several weeks ago!! I was in my element!!  Be blessed! :)

Got to love my 10 man tent!

Sisters are the best!

  1. Happy 12th WOYWW Felicia!! It’s fun to hear about what you got up to, I think I’d have been exhausted too by all that you got up to! S pleased that the wedding all went off ok, great pics! The bed making story made me laugh, I don’t think hospital corners would survive with me sleeping, I’m all over the place, too hot, too cold, the covers go on and off during the night! Great pics of you all camping!

  3. So glad to catch up with you again, Felicia. The last time was at the Zoom crop. What an awesome looking wedding. I can see why you are happy for your nephew. Sounds like you gave them the decorations for the wedding of their dreams. The gift is nice, too. No, you used the perfect amount of sparkle, dear. Happy 12th Anniversary from # 10.

  4. Oh my - I just LOVE her dress! They look so happy and I adore your gift to them. The marmite made me laugh - it's in VERY short supply over here because there has been no beer brewing so there is no yeast! Lots of shops are totally sold out! Anyway, happy anniversary! Lisa-Jane, #2

  9. Hilarious account of your (mis)adventures with the bed sheets LOL. My goodness, you must have been exhausted! It's a lovely present you gave to the happy couple - simple's good - it will suit any decor! One of my ATCs is winging its way to you, but don't worry about sending anything back until you have time! You deserve to take it easy for at least two weeks now! Put your feet up! Love the big tent - you must have had a whale of a time chatting with your sisters into the wee hours in there! Happy WOYWW anniversary! xx zsuzsa #17

  10. Hi Felicia. Happy anniversary! What a week you have had. Congrats to the happy couple. A lovely wedding gift you made. Well done. Great photos of you camping the other weekend - glad you had such a good time. Oh... the adventure of the missing sheets!!! I did exactly the same the other week. Completely forgot to remake the bed. never went back upstairs to the bedroom until I was dropping on my feet - only to discover the unmade bed. Nearly gave in and went to sleep in the spare bed - but realized just in time that doing that would mean another set of sheets to launder... Yup. I made up my own bed. Of course, I was wide awake by the time I had done that...
    Take care. God bless.

  11. So glad the wedding went well after all your hard work. What a lovely photo of them. I love the gift you made - I had to laugh about the 'always something more you would have done' - I usually do the 'something more' then bitterly regret it and have to start again!! There is a skill in knowing when to stop and I think your gift is perfect as it is!
    Happy 12th Anniversary,

  14. Hi Felicia, happy 12th Anniversary. So pleased the wedding went smoothly. We need happy occasions after all the sadness and uncertainty over the past year! The gift you made was lovely - but your 'something more' comment did resonate with me. I was exactly the same at my daughters wedding last year, when I was looking at the favours boxes I made. I love the photoo of you and your sisters - all look so happy, and wow - a big tent - we could practically have a Crop in it lol! Thank you for your friendship, and all the comments on my blog... I love WOYWW and getting to know everyone! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #20

  15. Happy the weeding went well and your lovely photos show it was a joyful event. Your gift card shower must have been a success, and the holder turned out fab. Love it. The thing about WOYWW is the sharing, crafty or not, and we all love seeing the little snippets of peoples lives as much as we love seeing some gorgeous project. So have a much deserved rest from wedding planning and prep and see you next week for some more crafty loveliness...or not!

Happy 12th Anniversary to all my desk-hopping mates!

  17. So glad the wedding went off OK, Felicia - not surprised you were exhausted! I'm also glad you had such a lovely camping trip with your sisters. That's a BIG tent! Thank you for your visit and your sweet comments as always - so appreciated. As anticipated, my hubby is absolutely thrilled with the kitty throw (as are the kitties, it has to be said). He says all the kitties have different personalities, and that the cat stitch squares look like little choirs of kitties all singing together! Glad you like the Purple Circles jumper too, and the beginnings of the Persian Tiles throw. Not sure I've got the colour order quite right with that and will probably experiment a bit till I'm happy enough to go ahead and make more motifs. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for my hospital appointment on Monday. I'm really not worried at this stage and just trusting in the Lord for a good outcome. I am very pleased to hear that your colonoscopy was OK too! That's great news and a great relief, I am sure. The final one that I had was not good, of course, and the result was that I will never again be able to have another one because they can't give you a colonoscopy without a colon haha!

Kitties do like Marmite - probably because it's so salty. Not sure it would be good for them in any quantity but they will lick it off a finger. Phoebe was sent absolutely wild by the smell!

Regarding the anniversary trade, I decided not to do it this year. I'm out of "desk" mode at the moment and my paper-related creativity mojo has gone walkabout, and with everything else going on (especially trying to get the kitty throw completed in time for my hubby's birthday) I just couldn't take on another challenge.

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless,

  18. What a beautiful wedding. Well done on making it so special for them, that’s going to forever be a part of their memories and that’s wonderful. All four of you gals are alike, and I have to admit to being very amused by the fact that you have an awesome huge tent AND a carpet! Really made me laugh!

  19. Happy WOYWW 12th ANNIVERSARY! and, sorry I'm late!I've been double checking who I vivsited and know I commented but! No me there or even here! So I'm here again now! What lovely pictures of the wedding and your lovely girls! and we had carpets and plastic sheeting inside our awning on our carvan, made it all nice and cosy. Do miss caravaining but not the beds! Having to put the beds away before you could have your breakfast was a real pain! Hope you have a great crafty week. Stay Safe Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #5

  20. hi Felicia!

You're my Pay It Forward, to receive my ATC. Please may I have your address - you can email it to the.bromilows(at)btinternet.com Excuse the brackets, I'm sure you know what's supposed to be there - it's just to confuse the bots.

I'm a marmite lover - I remember as a young child being poorly and laying on the floor in our lounge - Mum brought in some Marmite on buttered toast, and left it beside me. I awoke to a rasping sound - the cat licking the marmite off my toast.... ROFLMAO

I'm a corpse-sleeper (named as such by my hubby!) - I rarely wriggle in my sleep, don't need to be exhausted to do! It plays havoc with my back though...

    Happy WOYWW 624
