WOYWW #600!!!!! Wahoooooooo!!!

Good Wednesday all my crafty friends and HAPPY 600!!! What a milestone Julia!!!!! And one I am so proud to be a part of!!! If you aren't sure what I am talking about you can head over to our host for What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday,  Julia Dunnit's blog, and you can meet her and read about our six hundred weeks milestone of sharing each others' desks, creativity, inspiration and getting to know one another and develop friendships!! I don't remember how I stumbled upon your blog when I first joined several years ago Julia, but I am so glad that I did and so thankful for all your hard work to keep this going for all this time! I love living in the states, but this is one time I wish I lived across the pond so that I could have taken more a part of your treasures and the Zoom meet up (UPDATE, LLJ just let me know that its this weekend...yayy!! I thought I'd missed it!! As I told her, guess you all see who actually pays attention and who doesn't! LOL), but please know that I'm a very grateful arty crafter!!

As stated above, I do live in the states so last week, whilst being MIA from last week's WOYWW and the Zoom meeting, I was amidst Thanksgiving holiday!! I know most of my friends on WOYWW are across the pond and do not celebrate this holiday, but let me say it's a week of cooking to get ready and then visiting with family and friends to celebrate the harvest and blessings of the past year! Even if you don't celebrate this holiday in particular, we can ALL find something to be THANKFUL for!!! I could spend the rest of my life celebrating and still have MORE to be thankful for!!! I'm an extremely blessed person and give ALL THE GLORY to My Father in Heaven!! I wish I could have been a part in particular with the Zoom meeting on Saturday, but that was our big family gathering (yes, we are allowed to get together with family where I live, just not big meeting/convention type gatherings) and I was unable to attend! I am sure it was a blast!! Thanks again to Julia! :)

So what's on my work desk this week? Well I took this picture last night and you will see a couple of projects going on.  I am feverishly trying to get all my Christmas crafting and gift making done and put in the mail. In the foreground, you will see a finished Christmas card and then next to it, I am starting another one.  I am using my Schmincke watercolor pallette, which I love so much!! I have my eye on a couple of new pallette's that I hope Santa brings me! :) LOL  Also next to the card in process is one of my finished "Project Christmas" ornaments that I am making for family and friends! I have been having a ball doing those!

Getting ready for Christmas!

I also had to get my ATC Swap cards over on Amy's Art Alchemy done in the mail by the 15th. So I got them done first and in the mail so that I could concentrate on finishing gifts. I failed to take a composite shot of them all, so you will just have to see them individually! As I have said before, Amy does not give prompts or themes, she just leaves it up to the creator to do as they wish, but I couldn't resist the "Christmas theme!" These were true mixed media projects because I used everything from watercolor to acrylic, embelishments to dip pen and ink! I hope whoever receives them across the world will enjoy! I really do love doing ATC's! When I first started doing them years ago, it was very intimidating to me, but now it's my fave project to do! I also really love doing tags, although, I haven't done them in a minute! Maybe some new years projects...who knows?

Dip pen & ink Santa & Watercolor!

Dip pen & Ink and Finetec watercolor!

Watercolor, emphemera, acrylic, stenciling

Watercolor, emphemera, wood, glitter

Watercolor, Crackle Paste, wood, acrylic

Watercolor, Crackle Paste, wood, acrylic, washi tape

Well, that's it for me folks!!!! Again, Happy Six Hundred Julia and all!  Thank you again for letting me be a part of this amazing group of artists, it truly has been a pleasure over these past several years, even with my hiatus! LOL  I look forward to a great new year of all things crafty!!

Many blessings for a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY! :) Now time to hop over and check you all out! :)

  1. Happy 600th WOYWW! I’m so glad you had a good Thanksgiving and it’s lovely to see what you’ve been working on craft-wise too! The cards are lovely, the little gnome Father Christmas made me smile. The Zoom get together is actually this coming Saturday if you’d like to join in, Julia will be posting instructions on Friday’s post!

  2. Wow, you've been so busy, Felicia! Those watercoloured Christmas cards are exquisite and I really like your ATCs too! In fact they have a definite Felicia feel about them, reminding me of the wonderful textured tag I once received from you - with the twinklies they look so magical! I was going to say that you haven't missed anything but I see Jan has beat me to it! It would be great if you could tune in - I think there will be a time slot that accommodates the US time zones. Just remember if you come to make a badge for yourself/desk with your name/blog so people can recognise you. I know because I forgot and I have yet to do it, so you were not the only one not listening! The naughty corner will be reserved for us LOL! Happy #600 and happy belated Thanksgiving! xx

    1. LOLOLOL, I STAY in the naughty corner!!!! LOLOLOL As a matter of fact, all growing up, my mother used to say that my middle name was trouble with a capital "T!" How's that for prophecy?????? Thank you for the love on my projects!! I admit that I really love watercolor painting but FAR from knowing what I am doing. I would love to take a class, but sadly nowhere around my neck of the woods to do that. So it's YouTube all the way! But I will just keep plugging at it! I had so much fun with my ATC's this time! Gosh, I am so glad you liked whatever tag I sent! LOL Who knows what it looks like??? Sometimes I feel like I know what I'm doing with even that, and then sometimes I'm like, "what were you thinking??" LOL But it's all just great fun!! So, I really hope to make an entrance on the Zoom meeting, thankfully Jan took me to the mats on that one!! And now, it's been done again, because I didn't know anything about the badge thingy!! Lord help me!! I will have to go back and look at Julia's blog posts again!! But thanks Zsuzsa, I will do just that, although who knows what it will look like! Thanks for the belated Thanksgiving and hope to see you Saturday friend! Many, many hugs and blessings to you! :)

  3. You are one busy desker, Felicia. I love that you are working on your Christmas cards. I'm rubbish at making cards. I really love your ATCs. I bet you have a die cutter. If not, you cut very precisely. Happy 600th from #6 and thanks for the earlier visit.

    1. Thank you so much!! I do have a die cutter, but sadly I don't have a lot of dies!! LOL Pretty crazy huh? So most of my things turn out to be fussy cut jobs!! I thought I would use it more than I do, but I don't. My art has gone in different directions since acquiring that guy! LOL But thank you for the encouraging words! Thanks also for stopping in and blessings to you!

  4. Hi Felicia, your art work is so brilliant! Well done! I think the idea of having a special Thanksgiving day is awesome and it's something I envy from the USA. I know we should be thankful all the time because there is SO much to be thankful for, but to have a special day to focus it on is great, I think. Hope it was a lovely occasion for you.

Thank you for your visit and your sweet comment. I am going to try and attend both Zoom sessions so I can meet up with friends from across the Pond, yourself included! The charcoal grey furniture definitely needs the Shoshifying touch, but the kitties have already made their mark by lying on it and improving its appearance! I agree with you, there should be more variety. It's like bathrooms - all stones and beiges. Funny how fashions go, isn't it. Anyway, I think the cat throw will be fun, and then the Persian Tiles one for the settee.

I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my rye breads! We are really enjoying them. I do like bread with a good robust flavour and not the rubbish tasteless cotton wool that passes for bread in the shops. My new bread making machine is a huge success.

Looking forward so much to Saturday and hopefully meeting up!!

Happy WOYWW 600 and God bless,

    1. Awww Shoshi, thank you so much for the love and encouragement!! I had great fun for this months crafts! I agree about Thanksgiving! I always have something to be thankful for, but a designated day is the extra punch for folks to gather and express just that! We are still on mandates here, but allowed to gather with family, so I was so thankful just for that!

You have got me wanting to drag out my bread machine! I haven't done it for a bit, so your goodies have got me thinking. And with it being the winter season here, if you will, what's better than coming home to bread cooking in the oven???? And you are too right about the product they call "bread" in the grocers! There are a few that I will buy because they cater to my belly issues, but they are so expensive that even buying them is scant! So high time to DIY!!

Thanks so much, as always, for stopping in and for lovely comments! Hope to see you on Saturday!! Fingers crossed that I connect with no problems! LOL Blessings Shoshi!! :)

  5. Hi Felicia, loving your ATCs. I used to do lots of swaps but then they seemed to go out of fashion but i still like to make them when I get the chance. Pleased tp hear that you were able to have at least a few members of your family around for Thanksgiving. Wishing you a very happy woyww and a lovely creative week. Angela x19x

  11. Hi Felicia. Happy 600th. I do hope you enjoy the zoom meet on Saturday, managing to actually see some of the WOYWW crowd. I won't be a part of it as I don't have a camera and microphone on my computer... but I have managed to get to four of the crops over the years, which were amazing fun - not much crafting done, but lots of chatter and noise!!
Your watercolour birds are beautiful - and I love the ATCs. I know what you mean about them being a bit intimidating when you first do one... in my case, they still are!
How true it is, that even in this difficult year, we have so much to thank Father for. It's a grand part of your Christian calendar.
    Take care. God bless.

  13. Hi Felicia, your watercolour birds are really stunning - thank you for sharing. The ATCs are gorgeous too, I love them all, especially the little gnome - he is my favourite. Thanks for stopping by earlier, my craft room is either shrinking or I really am buying too much! I have a garage too - but I have my gym in there, so can't really put craft stuff in there too. The quilts are for my grandsons- I wouldn't attempt one for my hubby - that would be way too big for a novice quilter! Happy 600th WOYWW and have a lovely week, Heather xx #25

I know it's been a busy time in the USA and family and friends are number 1 when/if allowed to spend our time with them. What beautiful work you have shared again, adorable ATC's. Christmas always brings out an extra sparkle to these tiny works of art.
