WOYWW #637

What's up all my crafty friends??? When you miss a week, it feels like FOREVER and I get all discombobulated and can't remember what the week number is so I have to check and double-check and uggghhh, too much in my brain and it's INSTANT overload!!! LOL That being said, it doesn't take much!!! LOL So it's share time over on Julia's Stamping Ground Blog of what's on your digs desk and what's going on in your life!! Pop over and share with us! Sorry for my lateness today!

Soooooooo, I have been on hiatus and for good reason! It was FINALLY time for our annual mother/daughter trip with my sweet, sweet mama!!! It NEVER gets here fast enough and then it's gone in a minute!! So that's my excuse for not popping in last week, and it was a GREAT one!  We had an AWESOME time sharing, laughing, eating, loving on one another, and just basically having a blast! Fair warning, today's post is a little picture-worthy!!! Stick around if you like and I'll share my desk eventually!! LOL   So, below are photos of me and my beautiful sisters and mother at the coast.

Dinner outing at our fave pier!!
My two baby sisters Tara & Tiffany

Me and star of the show, Mommy!

Our dinner scene of the pier as we eat and listen to a GREAT band!
The Warf Restaurant - our FAVE!

Our fave place to be TOGETHER!

So, what's on my desk?  Well a mess to be sure and none of that mess is finished!  Truth out, I didn't get either of my swaps in the mail on time try as I did! I have been extremely busy with the trip and work is a fantastic nightmare right now.  We are amidst qualifying and getting ready for elections and boy howdy it's going to be a true show this election!!  We will literally have a fruit basket turnover with our Mayor and Council this time around and I am not looking forward to getting used to a whole new crew.  It has been basically the same Mayor and Council since I have been on board, with a few exceptions, so you know how we are creatures of habit.  It's exciting on one end, but nerve-racking on another.  So, blah, blah, blah, my swaps will just have to suffice for next month!! Ugggg, I hate NOT fulfilling my commitments, it goes against all my principles, but there you have it!

Desk this morning - working on those ATC's!!

So here is the desk, just this morning with signs of my ATC swap cards that I was working on and will save for next month.  I was using a lot of my new goodies that I got at the craft expo! I am so enjoying using all that new loveliness! That justifies buying it ALL right?  LOLOLOL

It's getting there folks!

Next up is my almost finished felting piece!! Yayyyy! I have a few finishing touches to put on it, but so far, I'm happy with it!! It will be part of a two-piece show that I will frame and hang side by side.  I will start on the other piece this weekend, which will be a cluster of mushrooms. I can't wait!

Lastly, guys is some happy mail! I have, of course, searched ALLLL things felty and artists that have a style I like and there a few, but this lady, Moy Mackay, really spoke to me and I decided to get two of her books to educate me a little more on this wonderful craft.  I could look at these books every day, they are so filled with her beautiful work!

Well my friends, that should probably get me up to speed!! Plus I am sure you guys are tired of looking at photos! LOLOL  Here is hoping that this finds you ALL safe and healthy!! It's ramping up again folks, so PLEASE take care!!

Many blessings! :)

  3. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your sisters and mama - so precious! Lovely that you were able to take her out of the home - she looks so happy and it was nice to see all your sisters as well. You're definitely a girly family! I bet it was nice to get home though and break out those new craft supplies! The mushroom is coming around nicely and those books look so promising. I collect art books as well - those are the only books (apart from the antique ones) that I buy in physical form. For everything else there's the Kindle - but art books need to be appreciated in a printed form! It won't be long before you get back into the swing of things and make your priceless ATCs, I'm sure! Enjoy the ride and have a wonderful week, Felicia! xx zsuzsa #21

  5. Well, you are a good looking family - each and everyone of you. Looks as if you had a lovely time and the pier restaurant looks wonderful - what a glorious sky.
I'd love to ge4t into felting but I never have time for another craft - I did try it once and somewhere lies a huge piece that I started and which needs finishing. If only I could find it.

  7. Aww. I love Mom&Daughter time, it's such a joy. Love your mushroom, and yes, clearly well worth all the expense. Good luck with the new council - it'll probably be just fine - and enjoy the books. I watch tons of YT videos and look a lots of blogs, but nothing beats a good old book for me. :D

    Happy WOYWW late again

  8. What a busy time you've had lately, Felicia, but what a lovely time, too. I just loved seeing your beautiful family photos - it it just you 4 girls or are there any other siblings? I just have the one sister. You all look so happy, and what an absolutely gorgeous place you went. I'm not surprised it's a favourite. Fabulous photos - what a sky!

I love your toadstool ATC. It looks as if you are getting on top of your commitments despite busy-ness at work as well as the family get-together.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Felicia. I so agree - where would we be in our struggles without the Lord? Unfortunately I have started some menopausal symptoms after being on my hormone blocker for over a week now - I'm getting night sweats (never had those with my "real" menopause!!) - I'm upping my soya intake and cooked a batch of soya beans the other day which I am having with everthing, including my breakfast overnight oats/chia haha! I love tofu too so it's not a problem. Hopefully all these extra phyto-oestrogens will do the trick. I discovered that flax seed and rhubarb, amongst other things, are also really good in this department, and I eat a lot of these. Had my radiotherapy planning appointment today which was an interesting experience. The treatment begins in the first half of next month.

Crafty disease side-effects? Hahaha!! Brilliant. I definitely suffer from those - the main one being pain in the bank balance department!

So glad you enjoyed the kitty input this week. Ruby leaping on Lily in the box was a complete surprise and I'm glad I captured that on video! They seem very happy with their new bowls, and so far Ruby hasn't been sick. We've had great chewers of cardboard in the past - the present two did a lot when they were kittens (teething) but our old Beatrice was a champion. She never ate it, but just spat out the bits all over the floor! The washing machine repair man came once, and when he pulled out the machine, there was all this chewed up cardboard underneath from our recycling box that we used to keep beside the machine, and I'm sure he thought we'd got mice!

Happy belated WOYWW and God bless you - He certainly has ALL things in hand!
